Mintive vs TrueFoundry
Last updated: October 19, 2026.
Choose Mintive when the priority is governing agent activity across the tools your teams already use: per-user identity on every tool call, Virtual MCPs per role, Mint Guard screening, and Agent Monitor for coding agents such as Claude Code and Cursor, as a managed service. Choose TrueFoundry when you want one AI platform that deploys models and agents in your own cloud and runs LLM, MCP and agent traffic through a single AI gateway.
Managed governance gateway vs Kubernetes-native AI platform
Mintive is a managed cloud service focused on agent governance: the MCP gateway for tool traffic, the LLM gateway for model traffic and Agent Monitor for coding agents, with LLM gateway policies using the same users and groups you manage elsewhere in Mintive. For on-premise or self-hosted requirements, contact Mintive. TrueFoundry's MCP gateway is one part of its AI Gateway, which sits on a wider platform for deploying models and agent harnesses, and it runs as managed SaaS, with the gateway plane in your infrastructure, or fully self-hosted, including air-gapped on Enterprise.

Audit trail depth
Mintive logs every MCP tool call with the IdP identity of the user behind it, the MCP server, connector and tool, and adds Agent Monitor events (file reads, commands, MCP tool calls and prompts from coding agents) plus access grants and connector credential events. All of it streams to your SIEM over OTLP or Splunk HEC, or as batched files to S3, and with zero data retention on, exports contain metadata only. TrueFoundry keeps platform audit logs and request traces and exports traces and metrics over OpenTelemetry. See audit and observability.
Per-user identity
Both gateways store per-user OAuth tokens for downstream servers. In Mintive, SSO covers the OAuth flow an AI client runs when it connects to a Virtual MCP, so your IdP's MFA and conditional access apply to agent connections, and per-user connectors call tools with that user's own tokens. Connectors can also use a shared service credential or cross app access, and Mintive can forward the user's identity to MCP servers that enforce their own row-level access.
LLM gateway overlap
Mintive's LLM gateway (early access) connects to OpenAI, Anthropic, Fireworks and Amazon Bedrock and assigns spend budgets to groups, teams and individual users, and allowed-model lists to groups and teams, using the same users and groups you manage elsewhere in Mintive. TrueFoundry's AI Gateway routes model traffic across providers with budgets, rate limits and guardrails, and counts MCP tool calls like LLM requests. See LLM gateway providers and budgets.
FAQ
What is the TrueFoundry MCP gateway?
TrueFoundry's MCP Gateway is part of the TrueFoundry AI Gateway, which also handles LLM and agent traffic, on a platform that deploys models and agents. It runs as managed SaaS, with the gateway plane in your infrastructure, or fully self-hosted.
Which LLM providers does the Mintive LLM gateway support?
The Mintive LLM gateway (early access) connects to OpenAI, Anthropic, Fireworks and Amazon Bedrock with API keys or subscription seats, and applies budgets per group and per user, and allowed-model lists per group.
Does Mintive keep each user's identity on tool calls?
Yes. Users sign in through your IdP, per-user connectors call downstream tools with that user's own OAuth tokens, and every tool call is logged with the IdP identity. Mintive can also forward the user's email to upstream MCP servers.
Does Mintive monitor coding agents like Claude Code and Cursor?
Yes. Agent Monitor uses hooks in Claude Code, Claude Cowork, Cursor, Codex and GitHub Copilot to capture file reads, commands, MCP tool calls and prompts before they run, with rules that can block risky actions.
How is pricing different?
Mintive plans are listed on mintive.com/pricing, with Mint Guard and zero data retention on the Enterprise plan. TrueFoundry publishes a free tier for up to 3 users, a Pro tier at $25 per user per month, and custom Enterprise pricing, and counts MCP tool calls like LLM requests.
