Mintive vs Composio

Last updated: October 19, 2026.

Choose Mintive when you need to govern what your employees' AI clients and agents do across the tools your organization approves: SSO and SCIM, Virtual MCPs per role, Mint Guard screening on every tool call, and audit export to your SIEM. Choose Composio when you are building agents that act across many SaaS apps on behalf of your own users and want a large prebuilt toolkit catalog with managed per-user OAuth. The two can work together, since Mintive connects to remote MCP servers by URL.

Governance gateway vs integration catalog and auth broker

Mintive sits between your organization's AI clients and the MCP servers they use, so admins approve servers in an internal registry, package tools into Virtual MCPs per team, and apply the same identities, policies and audit trail to every call. See core concepts. Composio is a tool integration platform: a hosted catalog of app toolkits, managed OAuth for each of your users' connected accounts, and an MCP gateway with policies and audit logs for teams that put that catalog in front of AI clients.

Per-user OAuth to apps

Both store each user's OAuth tokens and refresh them, so tool calls run with that user's own access. In Mintive, users sign in through your IdP and then authorize per-user connectors on first use, or admins attach a shared service credential where one account is right, or use cross app access so Okta governs token issuance. See authentication models. Composio keys connected accounts to each of your users, manages the OAuth flow and token refresh, and injects encrypted credentials server-side.

Access control and audit

Mintive grants each Virtual MCP to directory groups, so a user only sees the tools for their role, and logs every tool call with the IdP identity behind it. Exports stream to your SIEM over OTLP or Splunk HEC, or as batched files to S3. See RBAC and SIEM export. Composio applies policies at organization, team and user level, per agent or toolkit, keeps audit logs on every plan, and documents forwarding its logs to a SIEM through its Logs API.

Guardrails on tool calls

Mint Guard (enabled on request) screens the arguments and results of every MCP tool call for prompt injection, credentials and secrets, PII and harmful content, and rules and middleware add your own checks. See Mint Guard. Composio enforces policies in the request path, allowing or denying actions and filtering tools per agent.

FAQ

Is Composio an MCP gateway?

Composio is a tool integration platform that includes a managed MCP gateway. It provides a hosted catalog of app toolkits, managed per-user OAuth, and gateway policies and audit logs for AI clients.

Can I use Composio toolkits through Mintive?

Yes. Mintive connects to remote MCP servers by URL, so a Composio MCP endpoint can be added to the Mintive registry and included in the Virtual MCPs for the roles that need it. See add a remote MCP.

Do both handle per-user OAuth?

Yes. Mintive stores each user's OAuth tokens per connector and refreshes them automatically, and also supports shared service credentials and cross app access through Okta. Composio manages OAuth and token refresh for each user's connected accounts.

Does Mintive screen tool calls for prompt injection?

Yes. Mint Guard, enabled on request, screens both the arguments an agent sends and the result a connector returns on every MCP tool call. See Mint Guard.

How is pricing different?

Mintive plans are listed on mintive.com/pricing, with Mint Guard and zero data retention on the Enterprise plan. Composio publishes a free Hobby plan, a Pro plan at $29 per month plus usage per tool call, and custom Enterprise pricing.
