Notifications

Get alerted when a guardrail rule matches a tool call or a connector changes its tools. You choose which events notify and which channels each one posts to.

Slack

Mintive delivers notifications through the Mintive app for Slack, which posts only the events above, to the channels you pick. The app doesn't read or respond to messages in Slack. To bring an agent into Slack that people can talk to, see Connect a Coworker Agent to Slack.

Add Mintive to Slack

The Add to Slack button is in Mintive's settings, behind sign-in. An organization admin connects the workspace once:

Add to Slack
  1. Sign in to Mintive at app.mintmcp.com, or eu.mintmcp.com for EU-region organizations.
  2. Open Settings and select the Slack tab. The tab only appears for organization admins.
  3. Click Connect Slack.
  4. In Slack, choose your workspace, review the permissions and click Allow.

Settings shows Connected to and your workspace name, and every Slack channel picker in Mintive can now list your workspace's channels.

Add a Slack notification to a rule

  1. Open the rule and add a Slack notification action.
  2. Under Channel, pick the channel to post to.
  3. Enter a Short text, which Slack shows in its notification preview.
  4. Write the Message template in Liquid. The output is formatted as Slack mrkdwn, and the variables available for the rule are listed under Template variables available.
  5. Where offered, choose a Notification policy: On every use, On first tool use or On first MCP use.
  6. Save the rule.

Choose a channel

The channel picker lists the public channels in your workspace and the private channels the app has been invited to.

  • Public channels: click Invite @mintmcp next to a channel the app isn't in yet, and it joins so you can select it.
  • Private channels: in Slack, send /invite @mintmcp in the channel, then return to Mintive and click the refresh button in the picker.

Disconnect Slack

To stop all Slack notifications, open Settings > Slack and click Disconnect.

If someone uninstalls the Mintive app for Slack from the workspace, Settings > Slack shows Slack connection needs attention, and notifications pause until an admin clicks Reconnect Slack.

Security notes

  • The Mintive app for Slack requests permission to post messages, list your workspace's channels and join the public channels you select. It also requests permission to create and manage Coworker Agents' own Slack apps for the people who authorize it.
  • Only organization admins can connect, reconnect or disconnect Slack.
  • Notifications contain only what your message templates and tool change alerts include, so review templates before adding tool arguments or responses to messages posted in widely shared channels.
